About the Writers/Directors

Their latest work entitled, Superstar Dreamz: LIVE formally, SUPERSTAR KIDZ “The Musical” weaves an inspirational tale about young people who must overcome their obstacles to fulfill their dreams. This Broadway styled production focuses on issues such as bullying, peer pressure and the importance of making the right decisions.  It speaks to the hearts and souls of our nation’s youth, presenting their issues in  hip musical format. The production has been dubbed "Atlanta's New Crush"  and has been selling out seats with rave reviews! With plans to do a tour, movie and docu-reality series in the near future, Tameko Star and Janice Paschal are destined to make Superstar Dreamz: LIVE a huge commercial success!

TAMEKO STAR singer, songwriter, dancer, choreographer, actress and playwright has been making a name for herself since birth. Star hails from Vicenza, Italy where she studied  voice, acting, dance and theater, which led to writing her very first musical for kids, entitled, "Man in the Mirror". Receiving rave reviews for her work, she later fulfilled her dreams of becoming a successful international recording artist. With Universal Records under the stage name, Livin’ Joy, Star wrote four top 10 Billboard hits which enabled her to tour all over the world. After relocating to America, she began fulfilling another lifelong dream of helping others to succeed in the entertainment industry.  In 1999 she opened her own talent development/production company called STAR HOUSE ENTERTAINERS. The company trains artists of all ages in the area of voice, dance, acting and performance.

During the summer of 2007, Tameko Star met published author of "IMAGES: HEART & SOUL", Janice Paschal.  Ms.Paschal, who is also a performing artist, studied dance, theatre and ultimately produced her own one- woman show entitled, “FAITH, HOPE, LOVE & LAUGHTER” which she toured throughout the country. She received The Editors Choice Award for Best New Poets in America and American Anthology and her works have been performed from Como, Italy to the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.

Star and Paschal’s love for the performing arts, entertainment and their love of working with children was the common thread that brought them together. While Star produced her company’s Annual Starz of Tomorrow Music Showcase, which featured students from her SUPERSTAR KIDZ & TEENZ PROGRAM, Paschal offered her talent and expertise and later became the program's assistant director. The two have been inseparable ever since collaborating writing, directing and producing top notch shows and performances.

With mainstream entertainment saturated with poisonous images and negative messages, these talented women were compelled to be the antidote.  Their passion for uplifting our youth has inspired them write and produce material  that offeres a fresh new look at young people of color. Combining their undeniable talent and skill,  the dynamic duo wrote and produced,  “We Are My People,” a musical narrative that chronicles the lives of African Americans from Africa to the present. This emotional production has brought audiences to their feet in tears.
